Cover Makeover: Six Days, Seven Nights

6 days 7 nights

This week’s Cover Makeover is for the movie poster for Six Days, Seven Nights. I have to tell you, I struggled with this one. Mom and I searched all through her photos (and that’s A LOT!) before we found one – or more we liked. I finally settled on something from a group of photos from mom’s trip to Jamaica when she was just a kid – back in the 1960s. But which one to choose? So many! Here’s what we did:

i finally decided on this photo of the beach. It has a greenish hue to it so I changed to black and white in PicMonkey.

After cropping it - this wasn't the final crop, but you get the idea, I noticed it had a greenish hue (natural aging)

So, again using PicMonkey I cut it out of the background and tried it on the beach. I didn't like it.

Made it black and white, and placed it in the upper right corner of the photo.
Made it black and white, and placed it in the middle right side of the photo -sort of like it was coming into land. Added text and could finally call it done!!

Book Cover Makeover – The Lord of The Rings

lord of the rings a

This week the Cover Makeover challenge is the classic, The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R Tolkien. Another book we have not read (bad on us!) but we’ve seen the movies so I knew the storyline fairly well. Since mom had unearthed some photos of her trip to Mountain Lake Lodge years ago and posted some of them on another challenge, I thought some of them were perfect for this challenge.

This is the base photo - it actually ended up getting lost. I'm a little sorry about that.

I overlaid this photo of a view through the stone archways of the Lodge.

Grabbed this clip art Ring off the internet, added text and then, at long last (two hours later), done!

Cover Makeover – The Green Mile

It’s Cover Makeover Challenge time!  This time the challenge is to makeover Stephen King’s  The Green Mile. The book was originally published in six separate novels before it was published as a single book. Then, of course it was a movie.

I took one of my mom photos from Alaska and one of the crows she likes so much, overlayed the crow, greened it up a bit, zoomed it and voila! Oh, and added some text. Haven’t read the book, but I saw the movie. It was powerful, and mom really loves Tom Hanks’ movies.

Here’s some other covers of the book:
