Aladdin, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, 2011
From the dust jacket: “Fuddles is not your ordinary housecat. Instead of sitting around the house, eating and visiting his litter box, he dreams of scaling mountains and defeating ferocious foes—but Mom always blocks his way. Yet Fuddles knows in his heart-of-hearts that he is, in fact, a great adventurer, and he’s determined to go out!
“Except when he finally makes it outside things don’t really go as planned. After being laughed at, chased, and otherwise put through the wringer, Fuddles realizes that he really misses his family (and is more than a little hungry).
“Frans Vischer’s charming, witty picture book debut shows that the grass may not always be greener on the other side.”
I love me some Fuddles!!! The first Fuddles book I reviewed was A Very Fuddles Christmas and it was hilarious. This one is the first Fuddles book and is just as funny. Poor pampered kitty gets into so much trouble when he escapes outside! I’ll bet he listens to his Mom from now on! None of us cats understand why our Mom won’t let us outside. Maybe it would be funny like Fuddles’ adventure; but then again, maybe it would be very scary! And, I would hate to be away from food too long!!! Anyway, Fuddles is full of bravado and anticipation but he soon learns it’s better to listen to the people who love you and have only your safety in mind!!!
Rating 5 out of 5 paws because it’s very funny, very true and very Fuddles!
