From the back of the book: “Clap! Clap! Hurrah! Hooray! Four adorable mice are dressed like Pilgrims and putting on a play about Thanksgiving!”
This book is a “Green Light Reader” meaning it is “For the reader who’s ready to GO!” It is very easy to read, with small words and small sentences – in fact, the word ‘Thanksgiving’ is the longest word in the story. It’s a cute story of mice putting on a play about the first Thanksgiving; the illustrations are bright and cheerful colored-in line drawings. I found the rhyming a bit difficult – but another reader may not notice. I would like to have seen more of the audience – they were only shown and the beginning and the end – but the story was about the mice, so they’re the focus. Overall, it’s a cute book, but there’s nothing really special about it.
